Emergency Management

Emergency management is the organization and management of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all aspects of emergencies (hazard assessment, mitigation, planning, response, and recovery.) The goal of emergency management is to reduce the harmful effects of hazards, but it requires knowledgeable leaders to plan for disasters and emergencies. The certificate program’s objectives are to provide students with an enhanced knowledge base in the area of emergency management, gain an understanding of regulations and guidelines, and to acquaint students with current trends and best practices in emergency management.
